Daoharu Mungkhlong Trophy
The Daoharu Mungkhlong Trophy was established in 1997 following a decision taken by local intellectuals and leaders of the ABSU and BLT. The people of the Dotma region unanimously resolved to organize the tournament as a tribute to the martyrs of the Bodoland Movement and to preserve their memory for future generations. To oversee the event, a committee named the Daoharu Mungkhlong Trophy Conduct Committee was founded. Since its inception, the committee has been successfully organizing the tournament evet year expect in 2008 and 2020 based on situational factors. Initially, the tournament was held in honour of the martyrs from the Dotma region and featured club teams from the local area and neighbouring districts. In 2001, after its association with the all India Football Federation (AIFF), the tournament gained national recognition. The organizers then broadened its scope to commemorate all those who sacrificed their lives during the Bodoland Movement. Since then, the Daoharu Mungkhlong Trophy Football Tournament has attracted participation from teams representing different parts of India.
