Baukhungri Festival & Trekking

Organized annually during the 2nd week of April (Bwisagu) at Baukhungri Hill Trek (Hajw Gakhwgra Jaiga), Choraikhola, Kokrajhar. Features hill trekking competitions, indigenous games, and traditional sports demonstrations by the Sports Sub-Committee of the Baukhungri Festival.

Annual Event • 2nd Week of April

Organized annually during the 2nd week of April (Bwisagu) at Baukhungri Hill Trek (Hajw Gakhwgra Jaiga), Choraikhola, Kokrajhar. Features hill trekking competitions, indigenous games, and sports demonstrations by the Sports Sub-Committee of the Baukhungri Festival.

Eligibility: Open to all trekking enthusiasts and indigenous game participants

Bodoland Indigenous Games

Heritage Preservation

Traditional Bodo indigenous games organized every year to preserve cultural heritage, foster harmony, and promote ancestral athletic sports. Spearheaded in partnership with the Bodoland Indigenous Games Association of BTR.

Eligibility: Indigenous sports associations & traditional game practitioners in BTR

Mountaineering & Adventure Sports Scheme

Youth Training Programme

Annual departmental training scheme imparting mountaineering skills to young generations in BTR. Develops physical & mental fitness, courage, and challenge-facing resilience among youth.

Eligibility: Youths and adventure sports aspirants across all 5 districts of BTR

Capacity Building

Regular professional training and refresher courses conducted for all departmental Officers, Staff, Sports Coaches, and Physical Instructors under Sports & Youth Welfare BTC, Kokrajhar.

Tournament Travel Financial Assistance Grant

Apply via DSO Countersignature

Lump-sum financial travel grant provided to National and International players participating in recognized tournaments across various disciplines. Applications must be countersigned by the concerned DSO under BTR.

Incentive Cash Award & Ex-Gratia Scheme

Medal Achievers & Veteran Sports Pension

One-time financial Incentive Cash Award to medal achievers in National & International arena, alongside one-time Ex-Gratia Grant for veteran sportspersons aged 60+ years. Requires DSO countersigned application.
